I thought their sound on Bloody Mary was consistent with their previous work, but the song just wasn't that good to me.

It never climaxed to anything. It just sort of started, went on for a five minutes, and then ended. SSPU songs usually have a catchy chorus or a big crescendo, which this one really didn't.

It had a really driving groove though, and SSPU has done dreamy songs before that kind of lack dynamics.

I dunno, after repeated listens, the "Play with Bloody Mary" part stands out as a pretty definitive catchy chorus to me.

"Pull Me Under" is the only Dream Theater song I've ever liked.

Oddly enough, it's largely in the same time signature as my favorite Phil Collins-era Genesis song.

Why that's so unusual? Both songs are primarily in 13/8 (the Genesis song, of course, being "Turn It On Again").

Partially to several songs, but regardless it's a great medley of partial covers.
