    Probably because they're one of the most polarizing bands out there, and even the people that really like them seem to disagree on the specifics of their career. They're pretty reliable conversation fodder.

    I am sort of impartial towards Muse. There are much worse things but also many things I'd rather be listening to.

    I'm not really sure Muse have been around long enough to have "eras". Hell, I'd only separate Radiohead into two or three musical eras.
