Also holy crap what an amazing week of DLC. Do you know how long it's been since we've seen some actual alt-rock from HMX?

I'll get back to you on that...

Not counting Rage Against the Machine, Paramore or whatever (considered alt by the game), it looks like since Coldplay. Yeah...

I'd say it's been even longer as Coldplay's really just a pop band; not since the Death Cab For Cutie single like, two years ago.

I'd say parts of their debut are pretty alt-flavored (particularly "Don't Panic"), though not really Yellow.

I'm still hoping we get The Queen is Dead at some point (need another alternative album), though it doesn't seem tremendously likely.

Just got back from the Xiu Xiu. I consider it one of the best concerts I have ever been to. The opening acts (Yamantake / Sonic Titan and Father Murphy) in themselves were fricken amazing for reasons I won't elaborate on, and I was right against center stage and Jamie Stewart was playing right in my face the entire time. Got to meet and talk to Angela Seo afterwards as well. The guys from Father Murphy are also ridiculously nice and I talked to them afterwards as well. All in all, amazing concert.

I didn't think much of Maroon 5, even "Moves Like Jagger" is amusing for a brief amount of time.

That said, after hearing their new song "Payphone", wow was it BAD. I mean, nominated for worst song of the year bad.

That would be sweet, or any more Smiths at the very least.

RO: Whenever I listen to anything Karen O's done, I instantly think to myself that PJ Harvey has or can do it better.
