RO: Incubus has a really tight rhythm section. It's a shame Brandon Boyd's lyrics always sound like some quasi-intellectual SoCal BS, though.

Very bad, but much more tolerable than Maroon 5

Maybe it's just me, but the guy from Birch Book sounds suspiciously like early Paul Simon.

Nah, actually, I retract that. Just on "New Song".

Just heard the promo album that Phideaux just released, which includes a couple of songs from his new project, Mogon... the Mogon tracks sound a lot like a more chill version of the stuff he did on Ghost Story. I'm psyched - as the Phideaux albums have gone more and more into symphonic prog, it's good to see the goth side come back a bit.

I don't really mind them. They can get annoying, definitely, but I at least find quasi-intellectual lyrics preferable to dumb lyrics that seem to relish in being dumb.

RO: I find Ke$ha a better declaration than the Ramones ever were that anyone can make music. If she can do it... I have a hard time believing there's someone out there who couldn't.

Random hint: The two statements in this post are quite related.
