No, I mean that I might wait before starting the fourth season, since once I finish that I'll want to go on to the fifth season, which isn't finished. Wait a few months to start the fourth season, watch that, wait for the fifth season to finish, watch that. Or, like I said, I might just finish up what's available on netflix now and rewatch it all when the show's about to wrap up.

How is the fourth season? So far, I can definitely say that the third season is my favorite; can't argue with Gus.

The entire new Coheed album is streaming on RollingStone.com, if you're into that. The general consensus among the Coheed fanatics is that it's probably the best album they've done in nine years. Check it out, if you feel like it!

It's really good. There's no difference in quality. Top notch stuff.

I kinda prefer the third, but season four is about as great. Five is off to a great start too.

That intro track is quite evocative of, of all things, Ayreon...

...seems like Coheed is becoming more comfortable with being referred to as a prog-rock band (a description they used to bristle at - then again, "prog" is once again being considered a compliment rather than a pejorative, something that Rolling Stone used to do frequently).

EDIT for impressions on the album in its entirety:

Shades of Ayreon seem to form an undercurrent throughout the album, but the main influence is clearly a hybrid of IKSSE:3 and FFTtEoM - as melodic as YotBR was technical, and as guitar-driven as their last effort was driven by percussion. It's definitely a return to form, with just enough done to keep the album from becoming a case of "been there, heard that" (with the possible exceptions of "Goodnight Fair Lady" and "Vic The Butcher"...). If I were to give it a rating, it's an unqualified 8.5/10 from me - musically I think it's on par with or a slight notch below YotBR, but it actually has production value, so it's something more likely to get recurring listens (and probably overall puts it pretty close to FFTtEoM in their discography).

I'd stick it right behind SSTB and IKSSE3, ahead of Good Apollo 1, NWFT and YoBR. If I'm allowed to count the second half (Decension) as part of a whole album, its ranking will probably rise, to be honest. Especially if the quality is as good as the first half.

RO: It's always cool to see bands that formed years ago that were unable to release anything during the time they were together eventually find ways to do so. The band that immediately came to mind when I thought of this is Iron Claw, who was around from 1969-1974, but didn't release an album until 3 years ago when they took 16 of their songs from the 70s and put them together, which I thought was superb. The success of that release inspired the band to write new material, which came to fruition in A Different Game last year, which is really cool to see.

I always see people mentioning how great the show is, including a bunch of you guys. But I've never delved into it yet, so I'll have to start watching.
