Inspired by afterstasis posting his old bands material, here's the last project I was last involved with. A demo recorded two years ago that never really saw the light of day, I left the project due personal reasons and eventually lost contact with the dude who 'fronts' the band, whether he's continuing it or not I don't know. Well, its atmospheric black metal along the lines of Lurker of Chalice and Xasthur (though notably clearer and with a lot more death metal influence). I did the vocals, lead guitar and shared composition duties with my partner who did pretty much everything else you'll hear on the songs. It was probably the most excruciating experience I've had recording (made worse by my constantly stoned German partner who could only speak basic English) but I think the demo's came out well... listening to them two year later, there's some changes I should of made but it was my German speaking friend who had the final say as it was his project.
Anyway here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?ljno1yrowoi
I'm about to start my sixth playthrough of KotOR. What class should I choose?
i'll download that in just a bit, FF... i love lurker of chalice and xasthur has some good stuff too, so it sounds right up my alley.
BioShock 2 and Mass Effect 2 as birthday presents? Heck yes. I'll be getting them like the weekend after the 9th though.
ME2 is the sweet. I'm incommunicado for a little while more on it, I'd been playing non stop since I got back from Vegas on Friday.
OMG someone give me $50 so I can get it!
Mass Effect 2 may be my favorite game of all time.....im serious.
God damn it. I NEED $50.
ME2 is one of the best games I've ever played in the current generation.
Please stop talking about it.
Nah.
It was worth a shot.
I still can't wrap my head around the concept of wanting to play a shooter with a console controller. Then again, it'll probably be a while before I get it on the PC, either... I have a rather scary list of stuff I still need to play first.
I guess I'll be the one to say that Mass Effect is boring.
The first one is.
The second one is not.
The game mechanics (combat) are pretty dull, though.Quote:
Not the game on the whole.
I don't see it.
I do, it's one of the dullest TPS systems out there. The psi-ops influence is a nice add, though.
Feels the same as any other TPS to me.
Funny, doesn't feel like Kill / Switch or any other TPS I've played outside of the fact it's a TPS.
No blind fire, no erm... moving from cover-to-cover with one button mechanic. Both things that I don't feel are totally necessary in the scope of a game like ME anyways.
All that aside, how has the second one improved?
The combat system is cleaned up and much more smooth. The cover system is a little modified but I like it better a whole lot. Not to mention the class changes are a nice addition. It feels a lot less... slow and dull to me. But I guess the graphics improvement and the framerate improvement help there.Quote:

i watched gametrailers' review of ME2 in hopes it may be more up my alley than the first game, but it still looks like a bunch of dialogue and storyline with the occasional bit of potentially fun gameplay thrown in.
Of course it has story and dialogue, not many games do in this day and age. Especially considering gaming is evolving and progressing into becoming interactive films. You can't expect light story ala arcade gaming anymore.
Same also replaying ME1 for my second character because I heard the default choices are terrible
don't forget those DLC codes ;)
Of all time no, of the year so far yes
indeed
depends how you build your character
The first one is not boring if you are an adept who can constantly shoot biotics at enemies
true
Also the classes were made much more distinct and the overall gameplay is faster
indeed
Of the past year my top 2 game choices are Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 with Mass Effect 2 barely beating Dragon Age (can't wait for Awakening)
i can't help but be bored to tears by games that put storyline on as high a priority as gameplay or take up a significant amount of the time i want to be playing the game with cut-scenes, babbling, etc.
of course, i'm fine with some of this...
i love the half-life and max payne games, for example, and feel those games' stories even sucked me in more than any game with 10 minute FMV's full of excitable asian people or 500 page in-game diary entries hidden in every other treasure chest.
if i wanted to watch a bad animated movie i'd spend a few hours doing that instead of wasting a week or fifty on an RPG game.
Which Mass Effect is not.Quote:
bad animated movie
I would recommend giving the second one a try it improved greatly on the first one
So you don't like plot that's why I always see you playing L4D2 (which my brother loves as well)
to be honest, i can name the number of sci-fi movies i enjoy on half of a hand... none of them have "star" in the title either.
Looks to me like he dislikes it.
