I was ACTUALLY that bored :(
Dang. Here we go:
AC/DC
Accept
Afrika Bambaataa and the Soulsonic Force
Agent Orange
The Alan Parsons Project
Albert King
Alice in Chains
The Allman Brothers Band
You should check out Styrofoam Boots! I run it with a couple of other dudes, we cover everything from metal to indie and noise rock and stuff.
...It's good! Read it!
List is pretty crappy. Seems like it was made for the most part by people with bad taste in prog and metal. My blog covered our own "best of" drummer list for the same era here, here, and here.
I'm actually extremely okay with that list. A few duds are to be expected but there are a lot of solid choices and even some nice surprises.
They have a tendency to be the most boring human beings I have ever encountered.
I didn't actually mean to list them twice:p
I think the worst of that group is probably tied between the Deadheads, the Phish mavens, the Floydians and the Dream Theater fanatics.
Speaking only of the hardcore fanatics, and not the casual listeners/normal human beings:
Joanna Newsome
Animal Collective
Radiohead
Rush
Tool
Phish
The Grateful Dead
Vampire Weekend
Faves:
1. Bohemian Rhapsody
2. Centerfold
3. Roundabout
4. In a Big Country
5. Heart of Glass
Leas favorite:
The Bedlam in Goliath is The Mars Volta's best album.
Who is this directed towards?
Even if it's not towards me your righteous indignation on behalf of a video game song selection is somewhat hilarious and disturbing in equal measure.
I think you're going out of your way to misunderstand me. I don't want it to be ONLY deep cuts and b-sides. I said, in very plain language, that Rock Band 2 was the best in the series because it had...
I don't think you understand me. Classic rock is my favorite era of music. That isn't the issue. The issue is the fact that this setlist seems to be geared STRICTLY towards the radio. The Who is my...
Of course there is. It's like, why even talk about music, you know? When certain things are correct and certain are incorrect.
Sgt. Pepper's isn't only overrated, it is honestly, truly a terrible album.
Arcade Fire blows.
Slayer has MAYBE an album's worth of good material stretching across their entire discography.
2 by far. I've been really, really underwhelmed by 3's setlist so far. 2 had an amazing setlist because it walked a tightrope between casual music and more hardcore fair(by which I mean music that a...
I really like this thread's idea.
I think I might be prog/indie/IDM. So like the Decemberists meets Kid606, but not absolutely horrific.
This track list doesn't really have me psyched at all, but "Been Caught Stealing", "Roundabout", "Here I Go Again On My Own" and "Midlife Crisis" all seem like they'd be hugely fun.
They're "real", but they sure don't tell you much about what you're listening to. Alternative and AC have come to be synonymous with radio rock, psychedelic has pushed its roots too far into modern...
Pretty straightforward. What term is the most useless, i.e does the least to describe the music it labels or is simply downright unnecessary?
