The in-game vocals will be nice for songs that someone may not be familiar with. It'll be easier to learn how to sing them. But yeah, afterwards I want to be able to turn that off.

True. Crap is crap, no matter what genre you find it in. But you'll also find some pleasant surprises in each genre.
While really good singers may be in short supply, I highly doubt it will "die out." Have you seen how many people audition for American Idol? And plenty of places still have karaoke nights. Trust...
Wow, that may be one of the worst generalizations I have ever heard. Which vocals are "better" and which vocal range is "considered to be the best" are completely subjective.
Guys, I GOTTA have more cowbell!
This thread just pwned me big time :D

Anyone remember the male/female ratio in Karaoke Revolution? Been so long since I played, I don't remember the breakdown. But that might give us a clue what to expect.
True, maybe I'm giving people too much credit.
Maybe they should make an announcement regarding the date of their pre-announcement announcement :D
And I wouldn't be surprised if they had four career paths, in which case they could include some songs meant exclusively for one instrument or another.
At this point, it was more important to show the design concept than a finished product. I think most (not all, apparently) gamers nowadays are savvy enough to realize that screenshots from months...
That's what I was thinking. Seems like each song could be programmed to recognize a wide octave range, not just one key.
I'm a comic geek, so I couldn't resist naming my GH2 band Green Arrow.
It always cracks me up when people pride themselves on being "anti-establishment" when it comes to music. The whole "if it's popular then it must suck" mentality is just as narrow-minded as any...
The average consumer misses E3, but the games might end up being stronger without it. That way, the developers have one less early deadline to hit and can focus on making the actual finished product...
Yeah, that felt like it worked pretty naturally. You had to hit the notes and get the timing right, but that still left room for individual voice tones/styles.
If this is a spam attempt, it's the most feeble attempt I've ever seen.
Yep. I already have the GHII guitar, and have no desire to play the bass or drums right now. So it'll just be the mic for me.
These four were probably chosen because they're the basic components to the vast majority of rock bands. Personally, I think it'd be harder to find songs that DON'T involve all of these.
