You have to include Revelations its pretty much necessary. Seeing Drifter or Twilight zone would be good too.

5: Looking Down The Cross

3: Poison Was The Cure
2: Rattlehead
1: Good Mourning Black Friday
4th Clive is amazing
Charts like these are always fascinating to look at but I've yet to see one with a lot of accuracy.
Lol don't worry about it just kidding, I'm on an odd sleep schedule due to summer so that explains my late night ninja-ing.

++ Wolves in the Throne Room, Iron Maiden
+ In Flames, Mastadon

Not too familiar with a decent number of those bands 8/10 on the ones I do know

Glad to see you're taking the initiative

I wouldn't consider it a demo but Traced in Air is certainly more of a full concept. Partially for that reason I think stuff off of Focus would be more appropriate for RB.
12 year olds are annoying by nature (for the most part) and if they are into Dragon Force now they will probably outgrow them just like you did.
I say if they are exposing people to metal then...
60s: Black Sabbath
70s: Judas Priest
80s: Iron Maiden
90s: Cynic
00s: Wolves in the Throne Room
Although I'll admit I'm not that familiar with too many 60s and 00 artists
Seeing BFD with a friend several years ago was an all around terrible experience for me, the Foo Fighters are incredibly boring. Also Lauren Harris opening for Iron Maiden, I understand that shes his...
Its almost impossible on most studio tracks but they each have fairly distinct soloing styles. On the old songs live I think Dave's tone is fairly prominent.
