It's not about how hard they are/can be in game, it's that they are kind of repetitive (loud as hell, yet repetitive) and I haven't had any fun in ANY bassline in rock band that are that way but...

I wouldn't call them awesome, they are good but... No more.

Nevertheless, even if they are "OMFG i'm going to *** on my bass" or "Meh" Rock band have the skill to make them all boring in game ._.
