I think the holy grail would be a product that simply converts midi directly into rock band. That way all of us with electric kits just use our existing drums. I know I read early on that Harmonix...
I live near New Brighton/Fridley.
I play expert drums only. No other instruments really matter ;)
So far...~60-70 on the drum leader boards. I'd like to move higher but my perfect QM kit has a...
Please post details on how you accomplished this! I've got the same kit and would consider it the holy grail if I could get it (easily) working with Rockband.
I assume your kit has the PCY65 single zone cymbal pad (at least one for the ride) Have you tried it? I know you aren't interested in using it but at least it will tell you if your cabling is good. ...
2nd day of play on my new 'bass drum' and I think i'm pretty happy. I did end up putting a towel behind the pad to dampen some of the vibration as before I was getting some double triggers. That's...

I was able to use my DTXpress cymbal pad as a bass drum. I think this would work with the original ebass pad that came...
I hear ya! If only I could get my electronic bass pad working with this, would be even better.
By no means do I think the cymbal pad is the best approach. If I had a functional single zone bass...
Really don't need the pictures. Concept is easy. Mount a single zone pad/trigger to something that a bass pedal can register a hit to. (obviously using a real ekit bass pad would be the best).

Success...I got it working!

Actually...its so much easier than all of that.
Follow the link for details on how I got my Yamaha PCY60 cymbal to act as the bass drum pad AND while using a real bass pedal.

I was successful using the Yamaha HH60 as a bass pedal and also found it not very responsive. I do think I will keep it for double bass though! I know it will work for that in a pinch.
Here's the...
I could have sworn that my Yamaha HH pedal had an adjuster to determine sensitivity for the HH trigger. You verify that on yours? Than again, its been ages since I had to do it...I'll have to look it...
Ya, I think the issue is using a mono adapter. Last night I tried connecting my DTXPress hi-hat pedal to the RB drums (with a stereo adapter) and no worky. If the Roland HH pedal works with correct...
I completely agree with what your saying here.
I have a DTXpress electric kit with a pintech edrum mounted on a stand that the bass pedal hits (and triggers the edrum). I think i'm going to see...
So can you have just the base pedal replaced under warranty or do you have to do the whole kit?
All 1970s era versions:
Steve Hackett (for my guitar tour)
Phil Collins w/ his grizzly adams beard (only problem is he ends up looking like John Bonham!)
Interesting!
I'd read a bit about a version of DrumMania that would work with DTXpress eKits but since I'd had absolutely no interest in the music that I'd seen being played on DrumMania I had...
I'd recommend going straight to expert. See Run to the Hills on Hard. That not chart for the HH is crazy stupid. I understand the reasoning behind why they choose it like that: less notes should...
