Keep these threads coming, guys! Every year I come across no small amount of fantastic albums from them.
I saw Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Red Fang a few weeks ago in Toronto. It was pretty great. I met a guy who's seen DEP 20 times, and I got a black eye partway into Mastodon's set from a...
I just discovered the greatness that is the band Equilibrium and am craving some more folk metal.
Also, how about some soulful piano ballads, similar to Bon Iver's recent "I Can't Make You Love...
Kylesa and Solstafir for sure. Kold and Love Is the Devil are two kick-ass Solstafir songs.
I'm in!
Noble, if you're dealing with The Trews, Poor Ol' Broken Hearted Me NEEDS to happen! You can't not love those harmonies.
Onslaught, I'm totally adding you on facebook. Turntable sounds really cool.
My first was Rush 3 or 4 years ago. My favourite was definitely the last show I saw: Between the Buried and Me with The Ocean and Job for a Cowboy. Words cannot describe how fun that was.
Really excited that Born This Way is (all but confirmed to be) coming. Maybe they'll throw in the Country Road version for some more tangible guitar and drum work.
Mumford & Sons, Darkest Hour, Baroness, more BTBAM and Band of Horses please!
Doomsayer! Amazing song. Oddly appropriate.
If Distrubed wins, there is no justice in the world.
Noble, try getting Kvelertak. They seem right down your alley. Here are some samples:
Blodtorst
Ulvetid
Ara Batur by Sigur Ros, when choir comes in at the crescendo, followed by the horns. Epic one-two punch of emotion. The buildup and release of Glosoli by Sigur Ros is pretty amazing too.
"I just...
oo I didn't think of Priestess. I'd be SO down for anything and/or everything off their first album.
Imma say The Fall of Troy. Sounds like a band Noble would go for.
UnexpecT! I have a friend who loves them. Sounds great :D
I listened to the last eight or so songs on Deadmau5's Random Album Title on repeat for about 3 hours while finishing a huge report last semester. Instrumental, generally simple stuff seems to work...
lol yeah I meant it's pretty much all I've been looking into for the past couple days.
Thanks for all the recommendations everybody :D I'll try to check them all out eventually.
