I've always run mine at the 11 O'clock position, works fine not double hits.

Brian at Hopedrums also has a cymbal arm and composite clamp that works well.

I went the same way, had the old rear projection and went to DLP. The default DLP was still a little off for me and I did the manual adjustment.
