I studied European cinema and my closest friends did too so it tends to come up. Of course, most of what we talk about is who's into who, etc.

My interests are mainly music and films. Especially independent flicks and Gen X films, and a seasonal interest in Asian films.

The singing's the main thing I can enjoy about not having anyone around tbh. They make fun of me... :'(

Also finally realising that I love being in Scotland. The music is awesome.

I think they appreciate my musical knowledge, but it grates with them that it's my main topic other than 'shut the **** up, your taste in films sucks, let me tell you how you're wrong.'

I've actually noticed recently that my friends merely tolerate me sending them albums and hyping **** up to them all the time. I think they view it as a mildly annoying quirk that I come off with...

For songs unrelated to my ex, 'Some Things Last a Long Time' always makes me tear up a bit. In fact a lot of Johnston's work does that, the bare and earnest lyricism really does something...

My brother likes some awful fashion victim music, but he also enjoys a bit of decent Pitcfork-level music. He's slowly improving from being a total loss.
