I only have one of these (Coldplay) and I regret buying it. Sad, there were much better albums released this year too.
Would you pay for music by Beck?
    Maybe.
What if you heard he owned a plane made of gold?
    Sure.
Good, because he needs the money.

I wish more people had bought the new Residents and Sparks albums. Those are better than pretty much everything on that list

    Quick question:

Wasn't Chinese Democracy considered a bust?

Fogey:C why you shouldn't Bdim. Rather B+. Now that would B#. Was it Ab min? Did you take her back to Db?

I was totally disappointed by the artwork for The Bunny Boy. I haven't heardthe actual CD yet though.
Well, everyone, prepare to have your guts kicked out by folk singers...

Yup. And it really is when you consider all the facts. Sure it seems fairly impressive to say hey it's the 14th best selling album of the year holding it's own against Coldplay's, AC/DC's and Metallica's of the world but once you look at the actual numbers.....meh. CD sold around 260,000 copies in its first week. In its second week it dropped down to 59,000 copies. not too great for "the most anticiapated album of all time". As of Feb 21 it has only managed to sell around 540,000 copies. Compare that to the Illusion albums. Use Your Illusion 1 sold around 685,000 copies in its first week while Use Your Illusion 2 sold around 770,000.

For a more modern comparison AC/DC's Black Ice is about to go double platinum with around 1,992,000 copies as of Feb 21. It sold around 1,762,000 units in its first week. Metallica's Death Magentic has sold around 1,644,514 and it sold around 490,000 copies in just three days of availability. Not sure of its full first week numbers.

So yes Chinese Democracy is indeed a flop of epic proportions. There is no saving it now. It's done. only the fan boys and Axl nutswingers will try to convince you otherwise.
