"Once tracks are approved, they will be transferred to the Rock Band Network Store, an in-game music marketplace where millions of Rock Band fans will be able to demo samples of the songs for free before they purchase. Songs will debut exclusively on Xbox 360 for 30 days."

    Feel free to clarify.
Just saw that. Not sure exactly what that is on about but will investigate. The way the process will work is that we will be able to pick songs that rise to the top and hand move them over to the other systems when possible. Our dream is that one day we can get this to be universal on all infrastructures.

Seriously though. This is awesome. Granted I am stuck on the PSN and not XBL. But like I said in another thread that is now closed: It just means the 360 players get to weed out all the bad crud and I get the good tracks to choose from.

The only composition in RBN is the charts. The band needs to have their own "Master" tracks.

This isn't GHTunes. Its a completely different approach.

Thanks Sean, appreciate your swift reply and hope you and Harmonix can work forward from here and eventually have it even on all platforms.

Sadly, my road is ending here for awhile because I am upset at the amount of times the PS3 and Wii have been left out in the cold with certain features even though we purchased the same game.

Hope I can pick up DLC and games in the future when this is amended.

This is another step closer to bands releasing CDs equipped with files that can be ripped to your 360 to be played on the Rock Band Platform(tm). I am all for it!

Thank god all those "holier-than-thou" artists can now have the ultimate control they crave over the charting of their precious masters. Maybe this will expedite the process of debuting their songs to the Platform(tm). (coughLEDZEPcough)

    Harmonix,

The amount of work and effort you put into this is staggering. I can only imagine the buckets of blood, sweat, tears and Mountain Dew/Amp IVs it took to turn this dream into reality. This is ground-breaking, and a revolutionary way to participate with your favorite album. You guys are soon becoming the Pixar of the rhythm gaming industry. Congratulations on the accomplishment and press release!
5+ years, 4,000+ songs, 1 awesome developer. Thank you!

Cheers, would be good to clear that up. If they are exclusive for 30 days when this thing is universal i do wonder how that would work, unless its only until it IS universal.

Flawless i dont know how you could be angry though. Sure it sucks, but MS do have XNA set up. Sony would need to work with HMX to do something. Sure you could say HMX could of waited until it was ready, but hey what are ya gonna do? With Rise Against this week there is no way i could give up even if i wanted.

Will it be easy to hand move them? If so, can we (try to) get everything deemed acceptable after QA moved (and not just the big sellers, as long as doing so doesn't screw a band and cost them money)? This goes back to I'd hate to see myself or someone else lose out on a favorite band simply because it wasn't a best seller track.

You sure have your work cut out for you today. So many questions. I'd hate to be answering everything like we're trying to make you.

That's for sure, I for one have no interest in the majority of best sellers.

It's sincerely my pleasure. I have been waiting for this for a very long time (like 16 months or so...) My understanding is that in the DLC world literally nothing is as easy as moving things from one folder to the next.
