Would be nice if they were shown some respect instead of just bending over backwards for Microsoft because they constantly throw money at companies in order to get things exclusively.
Whoa. Hold back a little. That has nothing to do with anything like that. This was a massive undertaking requiring significant infrastructure to support both on our side and at the console level. XNA is an existing infrastructure that could actually make this a reality. It has nothing to do with what you're saying. As I said we have been talking to everybody for some time about making this happen. And we will continue to do so. We want this music to be available for everyone.

That just means you guys gotta bake him a cake, or pie, or cookies (or all!) and bring them to his desk.

It always is. Sony has some complex coding for the PS3. Many a company have decided not to code for the PS3 because of this. It was a risk I took when buying my PS3 which I understood fully upon purchase.

But seriously why complain about it. Just be happy with the fact of what HMX has accomplished and the fact that they will work their hardest to drop this on the PSN as soon as coding can be unstrung and figured out which will probably take a crack team of specialists.

What i DON'T like, the price point. Any ware from .50$ to 3.00$? I have a feeling that everyone will release their music at 3$. Also, This does NOTHING with the bands that don't want their songs in RB, although they don't really own them, record label does.

    My apologies then.

It's just that this happens way too often and after a while it gets a bit frustrating.

Thanks for taking all these questions Sean! I have one of my own though, more related to the costs associated with this.

Is the fee that a developer must pay required before ANY work can be done with the creator tools? Because while this sounds like something I'd love to tinker with and see if I could put together something with a few musicians I know...it'd be great if I could do just that (tinker) and not have to worry about fees unless I decided I wanted to try and license the content for use in the game.

You know what I mean right? I'd want to see how hard/easy it would be to put this together before actually investing too much time/money into it.

We haven't seen a piece of $3 DLC yet. I doubt that's going to change any time soon. And besides, if the song is worth $3 people will pay. If not, prices will come down in a BIG hurry.

I actually see more people charging $0.50-$1 per song in the hopes that they can get their name out there and make up the difference in volume.
