    Meanwhile, Rick James
    Short Skirt, Long Jacket
    Shadow Stabbing

You know, I'm coming up with a really long list, why not just throw it all on there as DLC? that works for me...
Hell yes, DopeHatMan! Great choices there. Any more you have are more than welcome. I just want to see how many fans of CAKE there are and which songs those fans really want to play. That way, we'll all know which songs to request "officially" with the Request Song feature.

Keep the votes coming, guys and gals! This is a discussion thread, too. So talk about everything CAKE-related: shows you've been to; things you've had signed by the band; friends, family and strangers you've turned onto the band; vinyls you purchased off eBay -- anything and everything! I love hearing stories like that.

Haha, well, there are a few that fit this description. My guess is you heard either "The Distance" or "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" Do you remember any of the lyrics, or the way it sounded? That would help me figure it out so I know which song to chalk your vote up to.

In case your post was a joke (good one!), I'd still like to know the song you're referring to, if indeed you want one in Rock Band.

Hey, nice! I didn't consider you guys would want full albums, too! I added a separate list for that, right under the songs.

Great picks, man. All three got a "(2)" after them, indicating a second vote.

Simple bump saying Cake would be fantastic, and a great addition to RB.
Lots of fun for everyone involved, especially "The Distance" or "Sheep Go To Heaven"!

Thanks for the bump. Your votes are counted. Glad to get all the CAKE fans together here. This thread will never die. Not with the life I will breathe into it. I have far too much passion for CAKE to let an "official" thread that I created get lost.

Stickshifts and safety belts is a must...

I definitely need to put my two cents in for:
    The Distance
    Mexico
    Sheep Go To Heaven
    Shadow Stabbing
    Never There

I went to one of their early concerts, just a few weeks after the first album came out, a free concert in Sacramento. It was awesome, I was in the front row and I got to talk to John McCrea afterwards. Cool band.

I love this song! You're right, it would be perfect for Rock Band. This is definitely gonna be at the top of my "songs that fit" list (when I get around to doing that)!

That is truly awesome! I'm jealous you got to meet John, but also very happy for you. So that was back in, '94? It must have been an incredible show for you to remember it 14 years later. (Though, I know I would never forget a front-row show of CAKE's, especially if I got to meet John!) Any chance you remember how many songs from the album they played?

    Thanks for the input!

yeah, that was a long time ago. I distinctly remember they played "Rock and Roll Lifestyle" and after the show, I remarked to John about how weird it must feel to have all these teenaged kids with the latest hip clothes singing the words back to him. He said that he wrote the song about himself and that it's not that weird. I'm sure they played most if not all of their first album.
