i can't believe any of you people actually like this dlc this week no wonder why george bush is president this country is full of mindless tv zombies
Wow, you are wrong. As someone else said...the average gamer is 29. The largest demographic for games is 25-35 I believe. Especially for a game like this that is more of a "get together game". I'm the among the youngest in my group at work(25) and I've had 3 seperate co-worker Rock Band parties each with return players.
Also, who do you think has more money to d/l the songs? A 16yo kid or me, a 25yo DINK(Dual Income No Kids)? I think the B52's song will be great...they totally remind me of the roller skating rink in middle school. This will be an awesome party song, which is what should help make up Rock Band's(a party game) library.
I'm not a big fan of the other two songs, but two of my coworkers actually had this on there mp3 playlists at the time of the announcement...so I'll certainly get them for parties.
I understand that completely, they are not my first choice songs...
Please re-read my previous posts on that matter though, and what HMX has posted in the past, and just the nature of the music industry. There are record labels/artists to get past.. everyone ignores that and keeps going:
- WelL Id ont recoGniz3 thees sungs!
Not every week you're going to get "Limelight" or "My Sharona" though, even that Metallica pack which is their best seller as a pack, I think if you asked the most casual fans out there to pick their favorite Metallica songs "Enter Sandman" and probably a couple of their more chilled out songs from the Black album. They can easily check billboard charts and see what was the most popular... and just churn those out but again.. record labels/record companies/artists.
The only thing I will say about this is that some artists are totally on board... Look at Metallica, Enter Sandman is on the main setlist, with a metallica pack already out, One is announced, so is an unnamed Metalliac album... AND probably when their latest songs are ready it will debut on RB as well. Personally I've grown to detest Metallica but I have newfound appreciation for their apparent approval of RB... perhaps as RB's popularity grows you'll see more artists follow the path QoTSA and Metallica have apparently taken.
SO we get the B-52's instead of Metallica
yay!
I recognize the songs. Heck, they are on my Zen mp3 player. But the song choices are atrocious.
As far as licensing, etc . . . you mean to tell me that MTV/EA can't persuade someone to fork over a license to a gaming company (HMX) that has proven itself twice over (GH, GH II).
SO, you just want a full track list of Metallica? Sounds a little repetive to me. This will be a fun party song, and a welcome change from some of the other content. There are 4 Metallica songs already, and while I welcome more because they are some of my favorites, I also welcome songs of that path as well.
Even if it was Metallica this week, if it was anything post Black Album you'd have just as many people complaining![]()
there's more going on behind the scenes with harmonix, microsoft, sony and these labels and artists than I am sure any of us can imagine. Be glad for the support HMX has poured into the game thus far. Not every week is gonna be the most wicked awesome week ever for dlc. No one twists your arm to download anything so just play what ya got and wait for next week.
i'm happy w/ the DLC each week as long as Harmonix sticks to putting out good bands and good music. This is definitely true so far, except for that one week where they released Blink.
I also wanted to say that the most vocal ppl on msg boards tend to be the, say, 13-22 years old that live on the net, and so when the DLC doesn't have anything from at least the yr 2000, or that was featured on TRL, they're all going to freak out and go nuts on this board. Just pay no attention to them and buy the good DLC...
