I got the game last night and got the band together, we've been looking forward to this for a while.

The game looks and plays really well. As others have stated, I sometimes had trouble keeping my eyes on the note charts and instead found myself focusing on the background.

After 2 1/2 hours, the disappointment set in. We went through all the songs with gold stars on 75% of them, and 5 stars on the rest (we don't have a vocalist). Two or three more times through the songs we didn't gold star and we'll be done with the game.

I knew that the 3 part harmonies was in the game, but I feel as though the game was created with this being the priority. This should have been a game that I rented, not purchased. For 60 bucks, I ended up with 45 short songs (close to half of what Rock Band 2 had). Overall I think this game was designed as a cash grab. DLC is popular no doubt, but releasing a game at full price with a small song list with the intention of releasing full albums in the future for probably 20 bucks a pop leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

It is for these reasons I am disappointed. I will probably trade the game in, I'm not going to continue to drop more cash to reach a point where I feel a game is complete.

You can not turn off the original vocalist!

You can turn him down a bit, but not as low as in RB2.

For vocalists that can actually sing, this is a huge fail.

Who wants to do a duet with the original singer?

    Patch this horrible flaw!

Reminds me of Guitar Hero vocals.

Can't get past this enough to even see if the rest of the game is any good.
    HALESTORM for DLC!

    Hm... Let's see...
    Game about Beatles...
Guitar and drums had elements people liked removed to keep from modifying the sound of the Beatles at all, with drum fulls and whammy/effects removed...
But muting the Beatles should be totally possible.
    Not smart...

Loved the game, what more can I say? If I had a complaint I would want more songs on disc. Singing and playing the Beatles is a dream come true.
    More Beatles DLC, PLEASE!

Like many of you, I was looking at the background when I should have been playing the notes/chords. Seeing the crowd freak out and swoon and stuff...it made me laugh and smile. Great details.

Some of the achievements are insanely hard to get, but with practice, they can be done.

The outro...it was beautiful. But not tear-worthy.

Here's what they should have done in the outro to make me cry:

    SPOILERS!!!

    ---------------------------------

When the "elephino" showed up, John and George should have jumped from the rooftop to its head, and have it take off. It would have been symbolic of who's still with us (Paul and Ringo) and who has passed on, going to the great beyond (since you see the creature going further and further into the background). That, combined with the song, would have made me cry like a kid with a skinned knee

    -------------------------------------------------------

Some great replay value, and the DLC will just make it better.

    I love this game.

Story mode is so incredibly fun and engaging, it should come with a warning: I couldn't stop playing until I finished! I've never before played a music game where I instantly jumped right back in after finishing the career/story and started replaying songs over and over for the sheer joy of it.

I'm fifty years old and a Beatles fan since grade school. As far as I'm concerned, this is the most emotionally involving Beatles project (non-album) since the movie Hard Day's Night. It's a whirlwind of memories, celebration, and great, great music. As many others have pointed out, the care and attention to detail makes this game shine.

One of my favorite funny little moments is John smiling out through the Yellow Sub's porthole as he sings, "Submarine...Yeaah-ha!"

I'm playing the Wii version. Thanks for making it so solid and complete.

My whole family's enjoying it. Here we have a game the entire family can play revolving around some of the best songs ever written, and the younger ones are learning a bit of history whether they realize it or not! This truly is more than just a game.

Thanks, Harmonix. Awesome work. I'll buy any Beatles DLC you release.

Now, how about a rhinophant action figure or lawn gnome? Pleeeease?

    Amazing!

As a lifelong Beatles fan (Born in '71), and an avid RB fan, I've been waiting for this....

Brought 2 of my kids to the Blockbuster launch party on Tuesday night....

Now, almost 3 days into the game - I LOVE IT.

An earlier post said that it shouldn't be called a "game". I agree. It's a beautiful Experience. I've sang & played these songs THOUSANDS of times in my life, and with TB:RB, it's even more fun! (also fun to see the subtle harmony errors I've made thoughout my life!)

I'm so glad that my kids (ages 4,7,8, and 11) are singing along, and learning about these awesome musicians.

I'm amazed at all of the trivia and extras Harmonix has put inside the game. Just finished playing it and it is an experience! A little disappointed with the short setlist too. But overall I believe TB:RB has set the benchmark to a higher level.
