This would absolutely have to be exportable. I'm fine with a limited number of full band games if they're done right, but what I hate about Activision's model is that you can lose track of what disc you need for what song, especially with their ridiculous decision to include "similar" artists. Because, you know, when I think about Metallica, I think about Lynyrd Skynrd (sic).

I'm fine with knowing "okay, if I want to play Beatles songs, I put in TBRB, and every other group is the main RB game." What I would hate is thinking "wait, was that song on the first TBRB or the second?"

Reserving songs for a sequel reduces the amount of DLC available for TB:RB - reducing the value and profitability of an otherwise successful and existing product. Furthermore, in order for such a sequel to be viable, those songs would have to be the most popular and desired songs - which means even less income for the already existing game.

This has the two-fold effect of alienating existing TB:RB customers who want those songs as DLC for the game they already have, as well as alienating people who now see HMX as cashing in on their existing success.

That's a lose-lose business proposition. A sequel to TB:RB brings nothing that cannot already be accomplished as DLC for the existing game.

Way to turn a success into a failure. Thankfully HMX has a longer view of things than some people.

The songs would obviously have to be exportable between Beatle discs only. (Not to RB2). You could get another 45 songs or so for MUCH LESS than purchasing them via DLC.

Frankly I feel like there could be a greater focus on story but they've exhausted more of the highlights than the highlights that they haven't used. I'd rather see a focus on releasing the discography.

They'd either be 45 songs I already want to buy (in which case the savings isn't really relevant) or else they're 45 songs I'm in no hurry to buy (in which case the entire idea of a sequel is irrelevant).

I'm still not hearing any compelling reason to hold back anything for a sequel when it would be better employed in the existing game.

I'd rather do DLC. In this month alone, I've spent over $500 on the LE bundle, the Gretsch, and I bought the individual CD's one by one. I dug deep in my pockets for this, and now I look forward to buying all the DLC.

No new game, but I hope Harmonix shovels the DLC on my plate.

I could see a beatles rock band redux future down the road when the day comes that this game looks like s if it doesn't export to 3(I can hope right?). As for a 2 now in the series it would seem like a cash grab seeing how they're doing dlc. I could see track packs though.

One reason it won't happen is because they won't be able to span The Beatles' entire career since they'll lack 3 of their most popular, influential albums to get songs from. The songs themselves wouldn't be as fun either; they went for songs that would be the most fun rather than just going for the hits. A lot of people don't realize that just because it's a good song doesn't mean it would work for Rock Band. Yesterday has no drums or bass. Hey Jude isn't that interesting on guitar or bass, and whatever songs you think make that a moot point aren't seven minutes long.

    To quote Stevie Ray Vaughn:

    I'm Cryin'.

There are instrumental tracks in RB; don't pout if one or two songs that come down the pike don't have drums/bass/guitar.

What exactly would the story mode be in that game?
Gamertag: DMSweenz30, add me! I'll be playing Expert instruments in TB:RB (no RB1 or 2 for 360 yet)
