I know what you mean, but that doesn't make you any less wrong. Software development quite frequently does exactly what you're saying. In real life too.

All the console conspiracy stuff aside, I don't think that some sort of word or update on a patch would be an unreasonable expectation.
I'm a PC gamer going way way back, and as patches were being developed, a lot of developers would indicate what they were working on for the patch prior to it being released.
It's a smart way of tiding people over until the actual patch is released.
And again, I don't believe it to be an unreasonable expectation.
A little communication goes a long way, especially with a devoted fan base.
Henry or Sean could show up and fart in this thread, and people would thank them for their input.

They have given us a crumb of an update already, people are missing it.

That's what people have an issue with.

Also the rich presence that lists WHAT you are doing in the game. Very few PS3 games support it, but it's VERY VERY VERY easy to do. (I added support to it on the PS3 on the last game I worked on in less than a few hours.)
It's all about displaying effort when something is required vs. optional.

I noticed some of the newer games do this, Brutal Legend I believe is the one I saw. Pretty cool.
You work on games??

This is kind of like Bill Gates telling me to stop worrying about the money in my account. It's kind of inconsiderate for the haves to tell the have nots to calm down.
I believe you've had the patch in the beta stage (or longer than most) so I'm sorry if I don't think you can empathize with those that do not have the patch yet.
Personally though, I honestly don't even care about a broken patch anyways but I just wanted to point out by telling people to calm down and "it's not a big deal" is not going to resolve anything and in fact it's probably going to add fuel to the fire.

Yeah. The last one that got released was Disney-Pixar's Up. Spongebob's Truth or Square, too, but I didn't do much on that.

This. This is what i want in Rock Band 3. its a feature that i love on the 360, and i have seen a few games use this. Penny Arcade, NFS Shift, LBP, Brutal Legend. And if its as easy as you say, i really want HMX to implement it in RB3. Its something so small, but so fantastic. I love seeing what song somebody is playing.

I just saw a guy on my friends list who has Modern Warfare 2 and it has this feature
/offtopic
But yea, hopefully HMX will put this feature in RB3, but i wouldnt expect it, theyre too lazy to even fix voice chat. (but then again they did put in-game music in RB2 which almost no game has on the ps3)
