    I wonder why you got your title.

    Metal is the same thing as Heavy Metal but it's just missing one word. They both refer to the entire genre, but if you guys want to call it a sub genre that's cool. I just don't consider it in anyway a sub genre.

    Heavy Metal is a main root genre, (in my mind) and power/black/etc. are byproducts therfor being subgenres.

    The lack of stoner is interesting. but i suppose its just a sub sub genre of doom.

    I also like sleaze/hair, and sludge, and industrial, and....

    It's kind of more complicated than it should be, though. Then again that is the curse of genres and genrephiles.

    Metalcore, When Done Right, is incredibly awesome

    (And Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for My Valentine etc... are about as metalcore as Fall Out Boy is emo)
