IM with magnet we were told NO COVERS and Ive got a band with a hot "cover" of a song that is in public domain (Ploy of Oracle's House of the Rising Sun) so theres no legal issues with the song and Ploy of Oracle WANTS/NEEDs us to chart this song and it would be HUGE seller as it is a one of the best renditions of this song ever....

I'm with you here. If Snoop Dogg or any other big name gets an exception to this, RBN will be setting a terrible precedent. Either make it so that anyone with a legally-sound cover can put it on RBN, or have absolutely no covers at all.

You actually may want to message them and ask them to change that. The RBN store isn't even going to be open by Christmas, and that's not even counting the time it's going to take for the song to get through Peer Review.
