Yeah, they could do a GOTY edition. But, I imagine that such a thing would just add some of the DLC they're going to release. Like other GOTY editions, it would only appeal to people that haven't bought the game yet at that point.

    Ideas for Beatles 2

I also thought about how a second Beatles Rock Band game might work. For one thing, the current game sticks very closely to the era the Beatles were famous, active and together. A game that covers the earlier days, the 63-69 tracks missed in the original game and then their solo careers might be fun to see. Before they were famous, they played many gigs in Hamburg, and a few people that I have played the game with were surprised that there wasn't a level/venue there. A recording exists of John and Paul's first meeting aged 15 at a church fair, where they sang together for the first time. As for their later years, wouldn't Imagine or Band on the Run be cool to play?

The only way I'd want to see this game spill over onto a second disc is if the one disc that's currently out doesn't hold enough memory to store the group's ENTIRE song catalogue.

    Then buy RB2.

That's a totally bogus assumption. Without looking at the actual sales demographics your statement above is nothing but speculation. Furthermore, it makes the (IMO completely faulty) assumptions that the Beatles only appeal to baby boomers and that baby boomers don't have their game platforms hooked up to the Internet. Three strikes. You're out.

And again you make an arguably bogus assumption: that the game engine can't be refined to add features and options that would enhance the playing experience.

The fact of the matter is that TB:RB only covers a sliver of the whole Beatles career. A new story mode could be made that touches on different aspects of their journey with no trouble at all. And as far as the game engine goes, we've already seen major refinements and feature additions to Guitar Hero and we know that RB2 has a range of subtle differences that would enhance TB:RB if added to it.

I don't see any reason why a TB:RB2 wouldn't be a viable product. Personally, I expect TB:RB to survive on DLC until all the cannon albums are released. Then and only then will it be appropriate to release a new version of the game itself.

So they should only release a new game if it has nothing but songs we already have?

What's the point of a second Beatles game? Take the entire Beatles discography and split it over multiple discs?

I don't understand you people who think a second game would make sense. Do you know how much it cost to make this game? Neither do I, but the fact of the matter is that it cost a LOT of money just to get the 45 on disc songs, plus the 29 downloadable songs. It would cost just as much to get another 45 songs, something I doubt HMX will be willing to gamble with putting onto a disc and creating an unecessary sequel. Also the career, while taking a severe shortcut due to the fact that The Beatles stopped touring early in their career, would either be almost the same exact thing or it would take average players down a path that, really, they wouldn't care too much about. A lot of effort was put into creating this career path that HMX chose to follow. I'm sure it wouldn't have the same flare if attempted again in a different direction.

DLC will suffice, and so will moving on to other Rock Band projects.

Seriously, there really isn't any discussion here. It is absolutely illogical.

Yeah, there really is no point that I can see. There aren't really any improvements they could add that would be worth having a whole new game for. There isn't a need for new venues. There are enough right now that cover the whole career of the Beatles. Any more venues would be unnecessary.

the only problem with track packs is that the majority of users who don't have the internet are wii users(older crowd) and you cant export anything to the main game, meaning tons of people will complain of having to switch discs for their favorite songs
