Unofficial "We Refuse to Spend $3 On One Song" Thread

Blondie's classic song "Atomic" is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace, as part of the RBN.

However, it is being sold for 240MSP/$3, in a blatant effort by a dying label in a decaying industry to make a quick buck off of us, at the same time insulting the intelligence of every single one of us who they expect to play their game.

As a show of integrity and solidarity, I have created this thread to express our intense dissatisfaction with this extortion, and to show that we will not entertain the fantasies of money-grabbing record labels who are panicking because nobody's buying their product anymore. Please post if you agree with this, and will refuse to buy this song and any other songs the major labels think that we'll pay more for.

Yeah, I can't warrant $3 for that song.

I can't say there aren't songs I would (unhappily) pay the $3 for though.

I'm not going to pay 240msp for songs clocking in between 2-4 minutes, doesn't matter whether it would be a random indie artist, Metallica, Led Zepellin or Michael Jackson.

Bring on epic 10-20min songs and I'm gonna open my wallet, EMI
    Bloc Party.

Yeah, $3 a song is steep. Especially when you look at how much on RBN is only $1.
I'll agree with this, I'm refusing to buy anything marked at $3.

    I'd pay $3 for a song I absolutely adore.

I do not absolutely adore Atomic. I LIKE the song, and I was looking forward to it in RBN, and I would have bought it for $2. But even if it's just a bit more pocket change from the couch, this is a matter of principle. You don't get to charge that much for a back catalog title.

    Edit- What Hex said ^ ^ ^

Sign me up. I'm not buying ANY song that is $3 dollars EVER! (I will barely buy any for $2 songs unless I know it/REALLY love the sound). Is Atomic by Blondie really going for that price? I feel bad, it won't sell well at all. Pretty much guaranteed.

Well, I really wouldn't refuse anything. If a song I love is coming on RBN, be it a 1 minute song or a 10 minute song, I don't really mind paying more. Give me some Queensryche and I will pay 10 dollars per song.

I won't be buying Atomic now at that price... good song, but not worth $3.

It really is. I would post the link, but I don't want this thread to facilitate the purchase of the song.

I hope it doesn't sell, and I don't care if EMI stops using the RBN and stops licensing songs to rhythm games altogether. They don't deserve our money.
