How about Beatles fans who own a current gaming console and have enough disposable income, but choose not to spend said money because they don't want the artistic visuals, historic venues, or Beatles avatars performing the songs. There's legitimate reasons for a Beatles fan not to buy the game, but I don't consider exporting to be one of them.
I think exporting is a legitimate reason. I mean, it's not a reason I would ever use but it's believable. Maybe they just want to save their money on something they would probably use/play more, like a RB2 DLC song since it would be right there with the rest of their library. It doesn't mean they aren't a Beatles fan. They just aren't interested in this particular Beatles item because they don't feel that they would get their money's worth from it.
I'm a Beatles fan, but there are tons of Beatles-related things that I don't have for one reason or another, even though I do have the money to buy them.
Or did you ever stop and think that the over whelming majority of Beatle fans don't play video games? Nor do they care about playing video games? I think that's more plausible than a Beatle fan refusing to pay money for a game, rather than the idea of him/her saying "You mean I can't play The Beatles songs with Rock Band 2? Forget it, I'm not buying it". I know many Beatle fans who would ask me "how's the game?". When I would ask them if they were going to purchase it, they would say "I don't own an X-Station or whatever it is", or words to that effect. It had nothing to do with exporting. In fact, if you said the words "exportable tracklist", they'd probably say "what's that mean?". Saying that this game would be more appealing if it were exportable at this point is just reinforcing yourself of that belief to the point where you're certain, rather than "right".
I know a lot of you guys want to believe that EVERYBODY in this day and age plays video games. However, there are still many who don't, and who probably never will. GASP!! SHOCKING!! The remasters sold INCREDIBLY well, and that's because Beatle fans love the music, first and foremost.
But it would be more appealing. It definitely wouldn't hurt would it? It's not like it would have lost sales if it was exportable. The people that bought it now would have still bought it if it was exportable, plus more people that didn't buy it simply because of that. And there are a lot of those people. Just ask RB2 players that didn't buy TB:RB why they didn't. One of the most frequent answers you would get would be because it wasn't exportable.
But none of this really matters. All I was saying is that just because the guy that posted earlier didn't buy the game doesn't mean he's not a Beatles fan. It doesn't matter if he already owned a console or not, the fact that you said that was essentially saying that the other tens of millions of Beatles fans who didn't buy this game weren't actually Beatles fans either, which is obviously a ridiculous thing to say. But you took the whole discussion on another tangent by saying the average Beatles fan doesn't know of or care about exporting. While that is probably true, it has nothing to do with what I was originally saying when I responded to you (or when I responded to SirDavidTLynch for that matter) and I don't know why you brought any of it up.
