Anything off of "Snakes for the Divine" would be awesome.
Oh my god, how did I not see this topic.
Excited that Revocation is on the way, quality young band.
If we're just going with current bands:
Toxic Holocaust would all rule. I'd love Noisear and Rotten Sound but don't know how well they'd do, haha.
And if we're going with old stuff then wow, there's a lot to choose from. I have a feeling that anything from Tales from the Thousand Lakes would do very, very well though. It's accessible enough for a wide audience but also gets a lot of respect as an absolute genre classic.
oduhfguohdfug. I'm thrilled to hear about Mastodon, Revocation, and Kingdom of Sorrow. Each are excellent and talented bands, and I'm especially excited for Mastodon, being as they played a huge role in defining my tastes in hardcore punk and metal.
As per bands I'd like to see on Rock Band, I know everyone has already nudged these, but Baroness, Dillinger, F*** the Facts, Necrophagist, Obscura, Pig Destroyer, and Rotten Sound would each be fantastic additions.
However, veering off a bit, I would like to make a personal appeal to Genghis Tron, namely anything off of Board Up The House. I feel like with RBN 2.0 having key support and vocal harmonies, they would definitely be one of the best bands to support all of the features available for rock band. Besides that, I feel as if the album flourishes with technical musicianship, intensity, and a sort of emotional strength to it (not to mention the drum parts, off of my own experiance playing along to them, offer a lot of diversity and are ****ing fun as hell), and I feel like, given the right exposure, they could appeal to a much broader fanbase than some of the more extreme grindcore bands, while still retaining the clause of "difficult-but-still-playable" that sort of plagues the library of impossible death metal songs on RBN .
Please add Zombi, Steve Moore, & Genghis Tron to RBN, that would be so darn great...
Also a big vote for Don Caballero and Baroness!
Thanks for being awesome, Relapse!
What about Napalm Death, the band is 25 years old and the song " If the truth be known" from the "Harmony Corruption" album would be a winner for "the father of grindcore" Napalm Death.
Napalm Death has never been on Relapse. All their classic albums were released by Earache and nowadays they are signed to Century Media.
Wait, they confirmed that they are working on Mastodon?
There should be something from that Parasytic album... the first crust song in Rock Band. How cool would that be?
