Welcome aboard. Basically, you will have to exchange your 16 digit Wii friend/console code with other players to play with them. First, you have to do is pull the console code off of your Wii and post it here in the OMB forum. Take the Wii code listed by other players ancd enter it into your machine. I would send a pm to the player letting him/her know that you have "added them." Once the other player adds your code to his/her Wii friend list he/she will show up in the online friends list on RB3.
By the way, you can't get to the Wii friend code from within RB3. You have to enter codes from the mail part of the Wii console screen. From the main screen, click on the mail icon in lower left corner of the screen. After that, click on "create message" on the lower left side of the screen. When you do, you should see the white "address book" icon on your screen. Click on that. When you do, you'll see your Wii friend/console code. If you click the "register" button, it will allow you to add other players' wii codes. I hope that helps.
Look forward to playing with you.

GOOD NEWS!
You ONLY need to buy the $0.99 Pro Upgrade to play the DLC.
Once you have it, it's your choice whether you play LEGACY (PLASTIC) or PRO. You just have to own the pro chart to be able to see the Pro chart, that's all.
(can't say I agree with the money-suck -- grrr.)
DOUBLY GOOD NEWS!
The Pro Charts are REALLY accurate!
Slides: Yes! As a bassist, I love seeing accurate slides!
Mute /Scrape Strums: Yes! Glad to see these so I can learn 'em.
Slaps/Pops: No. But yes. They aren't charted AFAICT, but you can play them anyway and they'll register properly. I do.
Bends: Sadly, no. It's one of the few basics that are missing. Hardware limitations prevent bends from registering correctly in-game. You can still do them on the Squier, of course. But they register as the wrong fret in-game.
Given their target audience is Beginning guitar players -- I can understand.
Alternate Tunings: It's up to you to figure out/match the tuning. I do it. Especially Drop D.
I want to learn to play by ear, so I play through an amp the entire time I'm in-game.
Capo tunings are handled as if the nut is the capo fret. Of course, those sound off - but they're scarce.
