Just wondering if there's any information that can be shared on the Order of Voices song that was announced earlier in the year.
Thanks.
People are misguided or misinformed to think that people are against the idea of the ghost vocals because of blindly following the rules. I love the results of twisting the rules on songs like Footloose and Fancy Free, Bang-on-a-can and Rockapella, and as I mentioned in the very post you quoted I'm fine with most of the odd things Ziltoid does, but I see the ghost vocals as being annoying and unenjoyable.
If this kind of thing isn't up for debate during the PT/PR process then what's the alternative? Perhaps everyone should be able to do whatever they want with RBN tracks, even if it makes the song annoying and frustrating to play?

I haven't played the tracks in question, but I feel like there must be a happy medium. ZTO did a pretty decent job of only charting ghost vocals where they corresponded with something, and I feel like as long as they stay true to that then it should be okay. All this I'm hearing about Boner and Penis do sound a bit more worrying
That is the happy medium. The ghost vocals on ZTO are less "something fabricated from nothing" and more "misrepresenting what's there on purpose". In context of the concept, folks have been pretty okay with that. There are a few pushing that a little further (and as much as it fits the style of humor, the "boner" thing is kinda too far IMO) but the project's avoided the biggest excesses and dangers of the concept. Still, walking a line ain't easy.
