    But it's quite alright~
I know that they're a polarizing band, and you're entitled to your opinion. Just like I'm entitled to disagree with you and you're entitled to disagree about me disagreeing and I forgot where I'm going with this.
But saying that the world could have done without them makes me all sorts of sad... I couldn't have done without them! D:
By your logic, I could say that Transatlantic and Phideaux defined the 2000s, even if 99% of the general population has no idea who the hell either are (well, maybe not quite that high... I'm sure the soap opera addicts are aware of Phideaux's name, just weren't aware that he's a musician as well).

Paramore? The band marketed towards christian teenage girls? Defined the 2000s? **** ME.

Paramore are still fun on a good day.

    Music that defined the 2000s?

    Too subjective...

You can bring up any leading 2000s band of any genre and it would count.

    _ Kamelot
    _ Pure Reason Revolution
    _ VNV Nation
    _ More Tribe

well that does seem to be the demographic that every record company in the world went after the past decade, but I wouldn't say Paramore defined mainstream music

In the past couple of years? Yes.

As a whole for the 00's? No.

Awwww, alright. Fine, I admit they might not be that influential, but I still love them<3
I guess I'm not good at this ><

    But I'm an agnostic teenage dude... ;_;
And you don't have to be so mean when you say that. You could have expressed your distaste for them in a way that doesn't make fans of them, such as myself, feel sad ><
Not saying you can't have your opinion, but I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything to warrant you saying it like that.

EDIT: Now everyone's mad at me... I'm sorry guys ><

no one's mad, just nobody here likes Paramore and would never consider them influential in anyway (and this coming from someone who was hyping them to his 8th grade buddies when their debut dropped)

    I like Paramore.....

But liking a band doesn't mean you have to overrate them, I like Coheed and Cambria more than almost anybody, and even I wouldn't include them in this discussion.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Maroon 5 or Blink 182, they've both been exceedingly huge in the 2000's.
