People are saying that the patch doesn't actually allow the speed to be manually set in riff repeater. Can anybody confirm this?

I could not see any way to do it when I had a quick look
Posted with my iPad. Hence the bad spelling/grammar.

Toymachinesh just mentioned this twitter post:

"Rocksmith update out, bass video shoots, PC version in progress, not bad for a small team. +there's more to come. Now where's my passport?" - Paul Cross @CrossieRS

    Bass videos? Sounds good

this bums me out. It'll be a lot more tolerable with the 30 though. worst part of grinding it down to 50 % was knowing i would be doing it again in about 2 minutes.

    For the non-Facebookers:

The patch update for Rocksmith is now available! Put the Rocksmith game disk into your console and make sure you’re plugged into the Internet. You should automatically be prompted with a software update.

    1. The user is now able to select ‘Songs’ from the Multiplayer Post Play screen, allowing them to select a new song without having to re-calibrate the guitar each time
    2. A fix has been entered to disqualify any Guitarcade Game score that was gotten through exploitation of the Pause Button. A warning message appears on the Pause Screen informing the user that pausing the game again will disqualify their score from the leaderboards
    3. The amount of lives that the user has in Riff Repeater has been increased to 30 when selected from Event Manager or Song selection.
    4. The user is now able to invoke the precision tuner before quick-tuning in any song or event, excluding multiplayer
    5. The user is now able to select their own “Phrase Mastery” level in the Pause Menu of Riff Repeater activities. Completing the phrase on the set level carries that progress into the full song, unless the new phrase level is LOWER than what has actually been achieved naturally
    6. The user can now start new songs at a HIGHER phrase level if they are good enough (Level 7 as opposed to Level 5), and they can also level up high-level phrases with fewer correct repetitions
    7. A fix has been implemented so that the “Satisfaction” Single Note arrangement can be unlocked for Master Mode
    8. A fix has been implemented so that the “Do You Remember” Chord arrangement can be unlocked for Master Mode.
    9. Lag Correction will be a new feature in the Options menu to adjust the difference between sound and how fast notes appear
    10. General stability improvements to fix crashes

I agree, and this is the main reason I stopped playing the game because practicing songs was so clunky. 30 lives is definitely better, but only if the lives count persists instead of having to be set each time. It really would have taken no more effort for them to allow the speed to be manipulated the say way they added controls for changing the active difficulty level.

for the first notes of an arpeggio, instead of displaying the string/frets of the notes you're supposed to hit, it displays it like a chord with chord numbering turned off, where only the "lowest" fret number is displayed and the rest is displayed like a shape. even after all the time i've had this game, i still have to take a song into the trainers/practice mode to figure out which note or notes you're supposed to play at the beginning of the arpeggio.

Better than RS's not having any notation to denote when you should be doing an arpeggio or what the arpeggio is.

So it works as designed, but you don't like the design. Not something you can expect to be patched, unless HMX comes to agree with you. The only thing in your list that's an actual bug is the XMB crash.
