Probably because they're one of the most polarizing bands out there, and even the people that really like them seem to disagree on the specifics of their career. They're pretty reliable conversation fodder.

I am sort of impartial towards Muse. There are much worse things but also many things I'd rather be listening to.

RO: I'd rather listen to any era of Muse than any era of Radiohead.

I'm not really sure Muse have been around long enough to have "eras". Hell, I'd only separate Radiohead into two or three musical eras.

    Let's see...
    1993-1994: Grungy Era
    1994-1997: Depressing Alternative Era
2000-Present: Electronic Experimentation/Small amounts of Depressing Alternative Era

    Seems about right.
We need sludgey and droney and stonery metal:
    Dirge
    Sleep
    Bongripper
    Sunn O)))
    Electric Wizard
    Earth
    Neurosis
    Cult of Luna

RO: The Walkmen are one of the most consistently great bands of the decade. You can rely on them to put out an excellent album every two years.
Not removing this until we get some Sunn O)))
in which case this will be on for a while.
