"Basically they admit that they rip off of other bands, but they add it all together to make a general 80s sound. I personally love the metal from the 80s so Bang Camaro is great for me and their first CD was awesome, but if you don't like 80s music your probably not going to like them. Also is 80s music considered classic now?" (didnt want to quote the whole thing)

Oh, no, I love the 80s. Grew up then. A lot of the music I do like from then is a guilty pleasure. But then again, most of the music I do listen to is probably from the 60's-80's. I guess I dont mean to diss BC, and at least they are forthright about their, uh influence. I think you can consider early to mid eighties stuff "classic" now.

Jet was the first band to come to my mind. Wolfmother is a good suggestion as well.

There is a local band in the Detroit area called the Muggs that has a very classic rock sound.

These are the guys who were on the Next Great American Band, right? They need a singer, but I like the band sound. Too bad about the bass player's stroke. I like how they stuck with it, but the keyboard doesn't quite replace a bass in that kind of sound to my ear.

I didn't know any of that. All I know is that I saw them live a few years back.

From the sunny Isle of Wight, UK comes THE BEES! These guys recorded their last album, Octopus, in their basement studio on ANALOG tapes!

This first song is "Who Cares What the Question Is?" Tell me that first riff doesn't sound like it's straight outta the 70s!

Their next one is "Listening Man" which has a nice oldschool R&B vibe (and what harmonious melodies!)

Next, I present you the treasure of Copenhagen, The Raveonettes! These two are all about mixing the late 50s/early 60s rock sound with 80s post-punk noise (think The Beach Boys meet The Jesus and Mary Chain). This is one of their poppier songs, "Love in a Trashcan" which coincidentally would make a GREAT Rock Band song.

(ever since I found out about these guys, my guitar chick has been dressing like Sharin Foo and alternating between playing a Fender Jaguar (closest the game has to a Jazzmaster) or a red Gretsch 5120, which is almost the exact same guitar Sharin has in the video, but hers is a 6120.)

Finally, another UK band, Hoylake's very own The Coral! This track is called "Goodbye" and is from their self-titled debut. That very debut also has a number of other Rock Band worthy tracks.

    Enjoy!
