People probably figure "oh, how nice, you're not in New York during the hurricane."

It's poured here in Rome every day since Friday. The only thing I assume we're missing is the heavy winds.

I think I dig the acoustic rendition of "Clean" more than the final album cut, though.

The only real weakness of Violator is that it's only nine songs, really.

With Grand Funk, their singles make them out to be so much tamer than they usually are. Much of their live output approaches proto-metal or metal heaviness, like "Paranoid" or "TNUC".

Yeah. The rest of Deep Blue Something's material is pretty decent jangle-pop a la the Gin Blossoms. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is still a fantastic guilty pleasure-ish tune, though.
Hmm, I actually feel that Enjoy the Silence, World in my Eyes (was that a single?) and Policy of Truth rank up with their best.

Yes, World In My Eyes was a single.

I would overall agree that Depeche Mode's deep cuts are much better than their singles, but the only "big" single they've done that I've ever felt suffers from that syndrome is Personal Jesus. Compared to some of their better cuts, that one doesn't do very much for me. Quite possibly not in my top fifty Depeche Mode songs.

So the singer of Suicide Silence died. Not a fan, but it sure sucks.

It's good to finally have power back. Just like last year, it was out for 3 days.

That's always awful. Hope you managed to get by!

Over the summer we had some random freak storm knock out power for 2 or 3 days, which were the days before, of, and after one of my best friends' wedding. The families all had to stay in hotels and I remember having to stay at a relative's house for running water and such.

Anyways, how's everyone been? Have I missed anything exciting?

Jose Gonzalez is a damn fine musician.

And this is by far the sexiest cover I've ever heard of Domination by Pantera.
