XCOM is very high on my 'must have' list as well (fighting for the top spot with AC3, with Dishonored as a close third), but since it's my birthday at the end of the month, I'm forbidden to buy anything new since I'm a pain to buy gifts for anyway.

I just finished Max Payne 3 on the PS3, which was fun, but not as good or atmospheric as the first two games. I've just started playing Valkyria Chronicles on my PS3 (bought it in a sale once and never got around to it) and Hunters 2 on my iPad to satisfy my turn-based strategy cravings until I can finally play XCOM.

don't know what it is with these old games, but haven't played most of them in 6 years+ and still know exactly where every secret is. :/

Walking Dead episode 4. Dramatic as heck throughout, ends on a total cliffhanger. Cruel of them to end it the way they did, but that pretty much guarantees that anyone who`s played the game this far will have to buy the last bit when it comes out. Hopefully soon, too. Love that series.

I still know way too many MK2 fatalities, and I haven't played that since the SNES version. And i'm pretty sure I still know how to beat C64/PC classic Zak McCracken to this day if I ever played that again.

It's scary how much useful knowledge won't stick in our brains because old video game stuff is clogging up the available memory space.

I`ve been busy! Got my own PS3 finally!

When it came time that our Xbox Live family plan expired, Sarah and I decided that it was a waste of money since we only used it for Netflix. We got a new PS3 instead because of Netflix being free on there, and I`ve been playing a ton of PS exclusives since then (Uncharted, Infamous).

Yeah, I remember seeing you on a little while ago. We still need to play Simpsons arcade sometime, we never got around to doing that.

And I know all about busy. My video game time has drastically decreased lately as well. Generally in favor of fun stuff, fortunately, but still.

I'm down for that. I'll pick it up this weekend so I'll be ready when we have some similar free time.

Did you try Double Dragon Neon? I got it on the Xbox and have been digging it so much, being a huge Double Dragon geek. The high point for me is the music, which is a mix of updated tracks from older games and some new stuff. The ending credits song is the Double Dragon theme with lyrics that are sung by the last boss lamenting his foiled plans. It made me go out and buy the OST, which is a very rare thing for me nowadays.

I think the co-op is local only though... otherwise I'd try that on the PS3 with you sometime as well.

Yeah, I've been meaning to ask how your family is doing! I'll email you soon about that so I don't drift the thread.

Haven't tried it yet, but is it still free for PSN+ members? I need to charge my US PSN account again sometime so I can get a Plus subscription.

I believe Double Dragon Neon is still free. I have it sitting on my hard drive, actually...

Last I saw, Double Dragon Neon was still advertised as free for PSN+ (with Scott Pilgrim as well, which similarly and unfortunately has couch co-op only). I heard that the first three episodes of Walking Dead were also a freebie for PSN+ for a while... wonder if that's still the case. It's such a great game.

PSN+ looks like such a great deal compared to Xbox Live Gold, really. Having neither of them right now, it's pretty evident that the better value would come from all the free games that you get on the PS3, as opposed to the occasional discounts on things I don't really want on the Xbox. I'm just fine with the free accounts on both right now.

Though I do have a voucher for a free month, but I'm saving it for when I don't have as much else to play so I can take full advantage of all those temporary free games. ^_^
