Not to sound too defensive as one of the people who took your top spot, but we're all limited by this issue. I've "only" played 954 songs but I'm going to have to stop soon because of this. But I know that both of us have already played the high-value songs (including those pinball exploit keys songs, LOL), so it's not like I have an unfair advantage or anything just because I haven't run into this yet. If I'd been able to get to over 1,000 songs by now my score would be significantly higher even than it is now.

Me, too. This is really depressing...I was really looking forward to finishing up my songs and then buying a ton more in the big sale. But I guess we should count our lucky stars that we found out about this before getting bit with it ourselves. The offline mode is pretty much completely useless, since Blitz without powerups is no longer Blitz. It's more like a dumbed-down version of RB Unplugged with completely borked star cutoffs.
I guess the only way you can play the real game at all is to create a whole new account, but then your scores wouldn't apply to your real one. What a nightmare. I desperately hope they fix this soon; this is even worse than the PS3 RB3 crash bug, because at least you could still play that game offline.
I was thinking about this, and another question that might be relevant is whether there's anyone out there who has played significantly more than 1,000 (or 1,020) songs and has not encountered this issue? Obviously nobody in their right mind will want to intentionally try this, but if anyone has accidentally gone past that point and hasn't had a problem, that could shed some light on whether this is an inevitability.
I know I'm at around 964 right now, and I'm on the top of the PS3 leaderboard. The guy right behind me is on my friends list so I'll ask him in a message. Vampinc is 3rd and he obviously has the issue, but MaximusDM is 4th and he almost certainly hasn't gotten to 1000 yet, because he's super good so if he had played anywhere near 1000 he'd be way ahead of me right now.
There probably can't be many people who have played 1000 yet, but I suppose it's possible if someone isn't as skilled at the game that their scores could be low enough that they wouldn't necessarily show up high on the career leaderboard. You'd think Harmonix should have easy access to this information themselves, of course.
I wish I would of known this was an issue honestly, I played for about a week and a half only using one or most of the time 2 power-ups. So yea my score is low in comparison, I played like that until I had enough coins to not worry about running out. Then they changed the coin system, lol Yea well it happens.
But honestly I have not heard anything back yet about this issue. HMX says they have people in the office who have played over 1200 songs without a problem. But I pointed out to them that if they are on the same network as the RBW servers are then that is possible. Just people outside of there network could have the issue. I could be wrong, but I honestly think that until this gets to be a BIG problem they are not going to put more than one or two people on it. So far only a handful of people are affected by this problem.
I'm agree with you Epsilon, the offline mode is pointless... Yes I could play that, but what is the point??? With no power-ups it's almost impossible to GS the songs. A few can be, true but the harder songs are almost impossible to 5*.
I have thought about creating another account just so I could play... I may end up having to do this depending on how long it takes HMX to address this issue and come out with a patch. I just really don't feel like starting over again, lol

You would think that they would have the ability to at least "simulate" playing as you in a test environment. They obviously wouldn't have your actual PSN login (you wouldn't think, at least), but as far as the interactions with their servers and the game are concerned they should be able to duplicate it. If they have done this and can't duplicate the problem, then it probably is something about connecting from outside the network (which again they should be able to facilitate that themselves on a test machine at a residence or something.)
I'm really starting to get scared about this. I love this game WAY more than I anticipated I would, and the thought that I will effectively have to give it up bums me out to no end. I desperately hope this doesn't turn out like the PS3 crash bug in RB3, which was never found and fixed, but like I said, at least I can still play RB3 offline. You can't play Blitz offline in any meaningful fashion.
I feel the same, I did not honestly think I would get into this game. But I am, I am hooked and it really stinks that I can't play.I'm really starting to get scared about this.
