Wouldn't it be the other way around? The album release is the first year, the recording or original version's release is in parenthases.

Pretty sure it's the way I described. Look at any of the Flight 666 Iron maiden songs, or anything by Motorhead, or Voodoo Child (Live) or Fire (Live) by Jimi Hendrix etc. Fairly sure it's 1969 (1999) or 2008 (2009), not the other way around.
