The Band – “The Weight (live)” - Have to admit that I didn't recognise this song from the name, but auto-buy now I know which it is XD

The Allman Brothers Band – “Jessica” - wait... the Top Gear tune is a proper song? XD. I suspect this will be beyond my modest guitar skills, but I'll wait for the charts.

Modern English – “I Melt With You” - Hadn't heard of this before, but a decent song. Will be picking this up if the guitar charting looks as fun as it sounds.

Nine Inch Nails – “Closer” - Without NIN we wouldn't have Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt, which is reason enough for the band's existence. Still waiting on a 2nd reason though ^^

Crossfade – “Cold” - Still amazed how many Nickelback tribute acts you Americans need >__>

Dragonforce – “Cry Thunder” - reminds my metal-noob ears of Iron Maiden. Liking the strident guitars and powerful drums, but doubtless too tough for me to play u__u

What a choice week! Hurray for more 6 songs and hurray for variety!

I was so excited for the first 4 songs on the list, that I didn't care about my lack of interest in the last 2.

For me, the highlight is Jessica. I consider it the 2nd best instrumental of all time (after Classical Gas) and it's a must-have for a game with real guitar.

Glad to see the Band make it, after years of purgatory.

I Melt with You is one of THE songs of the Eighties, for me. The only absolutely essential 80s one hit wonders we're lacking now are the original Come on Eileen, 99 Luftballoons, and Tainted Love (not that those are all I want, just the most prototypical 80s).

And it's great to get Closer, though I always hoped it'd come in one last nine inch nails pack, with "Down in It."

Oh, and I'll definitely be getting St. Elmo's Fire.

    What an awesome week!
Who doesn't love a good album sort? Fill in those 3's HMX!

    ALT/INDIE WANTED:
    Radiohead - Pavement - National - Arcade Fire - Wilco - Decemberists

Woah, woah, woah OVER THE LINE. The US may be to blame for such egregious missteps as the pet rock and the TurboGrafx, but the blame for Nickelback goes squarely to Canada.

Awesome week though! Sooo looking forward to Modern English, though my inner elitist would've preferred one of their post-punky album cuts.

I'm getting the whole week's worth of songs. The song I'm least looking forward to is The Weight, though, simply because I just don't like it as much as the others. Please note that I still like it enough to get it.

For DragonForce, would have preferred something from Ultra Beatdown myself, but this works. Also nice to see a DF song on a rhythm game that isn't lulztastically impossible all the way. People saying that this song sounds like their other songs... well I won't go there.

Cold was a pleasant surprise for me. That is a song my brother has been wanting for a long time.

It just won't be the same without those sound effects Weird Al used. I'll have to find those and put them on my phone.

The TurboGrafx 16 was by NEC, a Japanese company.

Hey, my "I Ran" and "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" rewrites didn't call for your head! They lamented their preceding droughts but were ultimately positive about their respective weeks' announcements.
