You and a million other people when RB2 was the current game...much to the frustration of us vocalists.

Yup, 2010 killed it in my opinion.

I really wish they would make that free 20 pack available as singles because I passed on the bunch but really would love to have the Ghost Hounds' "Ashes to Fire".
Still waiting for an 80's Hair Band pack of NUMEROUS artists.

Seeing this list makes me miss the days of 6-8 songs per week all the more. Both 2009 and 2010 were pretty great, but 2009 wins with Nirvana and Tom Petty, IMO.

Year - Songs I bought or want/Total songs - Percentage - Songs and packs I bought or want

    2007 - 15/18 - 83.3% - All Day 1 DLC except Cherry Bomb, plus Moonage Daydream

2008 - 11/36 - 30.5% (20 free songs excluded) - Dead Kennedys, Mission of Burma, Forever, Closer, Mr. Brightside, Red Devil, Laid to Rest

2009 - 16/32 - 50% - School, SpongeBob, Icky Thump, Smash It Up, Medicate, Walk Like an Egyptian, New Fang, Tom Petty, Our Lips Are Sealed

2010 - 19/38 - 50% - Subdivisions, Bad Medicine, It's My Life, Livin' on a Prayer, Runaway, Wanted Dead or Alive, You Give Love a Bad Name, RB3 preorder songs, Stayin' Alive, The Thrill is Gone, A Whiter Shade of Pale, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hold On Loosely, Can't Get Enough

    2011 - 9/39 - 23.1% - Ring of Fire, Stevie Wonder, Roadrunner

2012 - 8/53 - 15.1% - Holiday, Welcome to Paradise, Basket Case, Jessica, The Weight, I Melt With You, Closer, Cry Thunder

So it comes down to which songs I liked more, and that would be 2010's selection.

To be honest, every November seems to have been very deserving of applause. I voted 2012 simply based on 3 albums by Green Day who remain, in my opinion, the most fun band to play along to in RB. I did not vote based on the fact that I already had all the Green Day DLC. If I had not already had the DLC .... well I would be very broke right now.
But I believe in this and it's been tested by research: he who [edit] nuns will later join the church.

No, if you give me a choice between Ghost of Perdition and every other song that was ever in Rock Band, it isn't a choice at all.
I thought Call Me Maybe was the greatest song in the history of the platform

2010 had 4 great packs and "Subdivisions" so it wins by far.
Thank you Harmonix for making Tuesdays worth rocking.

I rarely choose growling stuff when I play with vocalists, though.
