If DLC is cross platform compatible (and if the Wii-U is any example, there's no reason to think it won't be, it was for the xBox as well in some cases), then there's no reason for the next RB to not support both consoles (heck, on the PS3, cross console playability has worked for the Vita and PS3, so if it works for the PS4 as well, the only difference in the game between the platforms might features/graphics.

Again, it's all theoretical, since we don't know. Heck, HMX may not know, as it might be something they haven't been able to fully examine yet.

That's exactly my point so restating what I said does not invalidate my argument.

I think it's a pretty safe bet that they don't. I don't think any developer has inside knowledge of unreleased hardware, and if any does, it wouldn't be li'l ol' HMX. It would be Activision or Bethesda or DICE or somebody like that.

Assuming the next gen of consoles will be out next holiday devs like Activision, EA and Ubisoft should be getting dev kits soon if they havent already. As for Harmonix probably not at all before launch. For the 360 Bethesda didnt even know what they were working with until a couple months before launch and they actually had built Oblivion on rumored tech.

Ok, I've read everything here. I think we can all agree that we don't want to see Rock Band end. We would love to see RB introduce a new title for 2013. I would stand in line at midnight for just such an occasion. *throws santa hat in air*

What I do think could happen, is that HMX will release a "downloadable" RB4. I also think that the need for peripherals is paramount to any hope of success...so I see them releasing a small series of what they will call special edition "Classics" but not a huge variety. I believe they could release the basic wireless drums, with the ability to purchase the cybal expansion kits. Or one basic 5 button guitar that worked really well. These would be available only through the RB forum store by special order, and would be promoted through the downloadable game. Anyway.... I hope...I hope...I hope...

Rb, 1,2,3 . Lego , AcDc, GD, Metal Pak, Classic Pak, RB Pak Vol 2 Country 1 and 2. TB RB, and a lot of DLC.

Almost positive they are. They are for sure making the drums and cymbals and they are selling the other ones.
