Get light ones with a plastic tip if you want ones that are extremely durable with Ions, or light wooden sticks to get a better punch if your pads are starting to get a bit airy and unresponsive. I would recommend Vic Firth 5B sticks if you go for the wooden sticks.

Also you could tape the cracks in the stick =P

I'd go with lighter in that case. Head down to a Guitar Center or your local music store, they'll probably have a nice little stand with tons of different kinds of drum sticks. Just try a bunch, hold them, air drum, get a feel for the weight distributions. 5A is a pretty mid-range dimension, 5B is a little heavier. Vic Firth actually makes 5AB, which is in the middle and what I tend to prefer on my kit. You may want 7A, though, as those are lighter.

I live about 3 hours from the nearest store that sells drumsticks. I started playing RB about a year ago. I bought a used set of RB drums off ebay that didn't come with sticks. Not knowing a damn thing about drumming, I bought the cheapest sticks I could find on ebay (a no-name brand for $2.25). I thought I was happy with them. They lasted about 10 months until a crack formed. Perfect timing though because I was just about to head to Vegas for vacation. Stopped in a Guitar Center while I was there and went through the entire rack. Decided on these in 5b just because they felt good. They were heavier than what I was using before. I was dumbfounded when I discovered how I was able to get through songs in their entirety with the new sticks where before I had to "pause" because my arms were tired. And fills seem easier than before. I "blame" it on the sticks. They just seem to be more balanced and though they are heavier, they tire me out less.

I like to warm up with 5Bs, then switch to 7As to play.

Like swinging a weighted bat before stepping into the box.

Those seem fine, only problem is my location. I live in the Netherlands and the fact that i don't know anything about Drum Sticks makes it alot harder for me.

Netherlands has to have some kind of music store I'm sure right? Drum sticks are like 10 bucks a pair, an almost insignificant amount of money. Just go to the store and try a bunch until you find what you want.
