I did consider. After I gave LHV those, I swore that I had would can it with songs that are over 30 minutes, let alone an hour long. Then Gand put up his length limit. I have only given two songs to TheBonobo (and I don't intend to give any more for a little while) that are just barely over 30 minutes (under 34).

In fact, even if I wanted to request another hour long song, I honestly ran out of songs that I can recall running up to that length.

And as for SoConfined, I only gave him two 20 minute songs. Lizard by King Crimson (which I got a second opinion from GandWuser) and I by Meshuggah. I did give him Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness, but he quit before he tiered it.

Very much this. I know you've learned better by now, but it was really wearing listening to one song multiple times when it's over an hour in length (except for The Whirlwind, Light of Day, Day of Darkness and The Hunt, which only needed one listening due to obviousness). Especially when I still had several other songs to tier. It's not that I didn't enjoy the songs (I loved Sacrilege of Fatal arms, The Whirlwind, Light of Day, Day of Darkness, The Great Barrier Reefer and Dopesmoker) but as you'd imagine devoting all your free time to one song is a choir.

Just thought I'd get that out there. That's over seven hours of songs in that list you posted of hour-long songs.

He didn't quit, actually. He's been super busy with his life lately, and is still tiering behind the scenes. He'll post a surprise there when he gets the chance.

Am I the only one with a tiering thread with no song limit? Am I also the only one who only requires one listen to get the sing tier? Seriously all the songs I've done so far have been done in one listen or one take. And as for long songs I've got the whirlwind so far as a work in progress, but I've also got x Japan's art of life finished as well as mountain jam by the allman brothers band which you requested. I honestly don't mind as long as the requester understands and gives me more time to tier the songs. Jibs requested the whirlwind weeks ago and I've only done a third of it do far.

When I tier songs for Radiohead97, it only takes me one listen as well, so you're not alone :P

Yes but it's not just the really long songs that only require one listen, all songs I've done, even your average 3 minute song only need 1 listening to to get the tiers.

And I'm not sure which songs I've done that Radiohead requested, besides songs by Radiohead themselves, obviously.

I listen to songs more than once to double-check my work, unless it's a song so painstakingly obvious, like the Manowar bass solos, that Rhapsody of Fire song I did, etc.

    I completely understand.

There actually was one song that was 2 and a half hours long that I decided against giving anyone to tier. Both because of it's extreme length and because of the fact that I do not like the song, either. I don't plan on going back on that, either.

Well, that is good news. It will make up for the loss of Gamer's thread (until he returns).

As for one-listen tiering....all of the songs that I have tiered (and not taken from other tiering threads) in my RB4 setlist were all tiered in one listen.
