Podracing was surprisingly awesome. I agree.

So, instead of having two pretty good games, we now have one terrible/decent game? Criterion can make a Burnout, they can't make an NFS to save their lives and they've now proven that twice.

And the last time Criterion made a good game? That was all the way back in 2008 if I recall. Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted are hardly good games, Hot Pursuit was decent at best and Most Wanted is flat out miserable nearly as bad as The Run which is the only Black Box game where they failed miserably and the reason they failed was probably because they were trying to be like Criterion!! Aha, it all makes sense now.

We get it, you hate simulation.

If I remember right, the main reason I bought GT5 was for the Nascar in it. EA had let go of Nascar about two years before, and nobody else had done any work to start making a full nascar game. Honestly the nascar that is in this game isn't that great. Only about 8 drivers with 2 schemes each and the only two tracks being Daytona and Indianapolis. (surprises me we didn't even get one of the two road courses) I guess I shouldn't expect a full 43 car feild with all of the tracks from a game like GT5, but I imagined that the racing from those 8 cars taking up 16 spots (two of each car) would be a bit more realistic. It seems when at Daytona, you don't even have a restrictor plate in.
And the car engines sound like a Maserati instead of a Nascar engine.

It's ridiculous how they handled their Nascar license. But, the license was out there and nobody bought it yet after EA, so they ate up their opportunity knowing that a lot of Nascar fans without a doubt would now purchase a GT game with the Nascar name attached to it and that's what happened. Bought the license, threw in some big name drivers and a couple tracks and advertised the hell out it which pretty much screamed, "we have Nascar and nobody else does!!!" And what happened? People bought it just for that reason and were greatly disappointed when the only thing Nascar about it was the couple tracks they had and the few drivers they had.

As far as simulators go, GT and Forza are pretty much the only 2 people recognize, but there's also a little known one called Enthusia on the PS2 that was a lot of fun in its day. I remember it had the weight diagram and you had to balance the weight on your tires through the turns, it was weird, but fun.

Need For Speed isnt one thing. You cant say they cant make a good NFS game when its been a bunch of things over its life. The one thing Need For Speed has always been is a racing franchise and Criterion is the best at that.

Black Box hasnt made a good racing game since 2004 or 2005. Hot Pursuit wasnt great but it is better than the other recent Need For Speed game and Most Wanted was just below great. The NFS games before Hot Pursuit didnt look as bad as they are because there was nothing good to compare them to. Now there is with the Criterion games.

The argument that Criterion games arent Need For Speed games is the same argument as the people that say "Its Rock Band not Pop Band".

So now we're going to start the "my opinion is better than your opinion" part of the argument? This is useless and I'm bored, but not nearly as bored as I am with this Most Wanted game. I knew I should have waited for it to end up in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart before getting it and I still have 6 Most Wanted cars to go...ugh.

The last NFS game I liked was Carbon.

Hot Pursuit 2010 was awful, I took it back first week I bought it.

I'm considering The Run as a next purchase.

I'd reconsider, especially if you didn't like Hot Pursuit, The Run is so much worse and there's much less to do than there is in Hot Pursuit or Most Wanted. You can blow through the story mode in a day that's how short it is and the Challenges don't have much to offer and that's literally all the game has aside from multiplayer.

And it's not open world which doesn't help its cause any.

Whelp, just started P4G. Younger brother bought me P4 for Christmas a few years back, and I discovered the drive reader in my PS2 Slim was dead not long after. I see why he bought it for me now, and I fear it will suck up much of my time.

Downloaded Steam, The Orange Box, and Garry's Mod the other night. Beat Portal in 101 minutes, apparently. Played some TF2 yesterday, too. I love it but it takes too freaking long to find a game! Maybe it's just my computer.

Garry's Mod is cool, but there's so much to do that I don't know what to do :/

Eventually I wanna get Left 4 Dead and probably a CounterStrike game. I also wanna get DayZ once that comes out.
    New Nightlock album!
