silent hill revelations

the dialogue was really awful, and so was the delivery of said dialogue. some of the special effects were bad but it had moments of cool visuals. i enjoyed it despite its flaws. hopefully we get a proper silent hill movie soon.

Side Effects.

Side Effects was really good. First movie in a long time that I couldn’t figure out how it was going to end. Good writing and trailers made it a movie that was completely different than I the movie I thought it was. And for those wondering there is full frontal Rooney nudity. But don’t blink or you’ll miss it. I highly reccomend this movie.

Turned out better than I expected/remembered. Had it taken a different direction, it would have been a great film. But as it stands it's your average Adam Sandler bro comedy with a surprisingly interesting story and theme.

I wonder why Sandler doesn't do more dramas. I mean, okay, I get that he's Adam ****ing Sandler, and that douchebro comedies will always be his bread and butter. But I thought Reign Over Me was an excellent movie, not least on the strength of Sandler's performance.

I just think of actors like Samuel L Jackson and Kevin Bacon who do way more movies that you even think they do (which should already be a lot) and can't help but think he'd have time in his schedule in between all the Jack & Jill bull****. I guess the simple answer is he just doesn't want to, but why I wonder.
