We're not going to tell you "yes" or "no". (I'm reasonably sure that the only songs I've ever said yes or no about are "Halftime" and "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)".) However, you have everything you need to make an educated guess.

If it helps, try it from this angle: if you were Harmonix, would you bring it to PS3?

    Those wouldn't need a answer.

Because the answer would obviously be "yes"... in my dreams

Hmmm. If I were Harmonix, I would bring "Fragments" over, but probably wouldn't bring "Words Cannot Express" over onto the PS3... since that only has parts for vocals and keys. But, "Fragments" has parts for all instruments, decent vocals, and I think, even a decent beat for the drummers out there. And, since they're only 99c/80MSP, I don't see why people wouldn't buy it.

I guess it's hard for me to comprehend what's popular and why it's popular. I don't understand why so many songs that sound samey, don't have parts for all instruments, or are actually completely instrumental, make it over onto the PS3, yet there's a ton of other great content on the RBN which never gets a mention. I find it odd that we get classical tracks. I think we've even got two versions of "Fur Elise".

I wasn't looking for a definitive "yes" or "no" response, but was hoping for something along the lines of... "it'll get ported over eventually", or "it's got a reasonable chance of being ported to the PS3".

If we ever get "Fragments" by an Unkindness, I promise to never make another request again. So, please, please, please, make it happen.

Because not everyone plays vocals and there is a lot of fun instrumental tracks out there. Chiptune, which is a genre that is mostly instrumental in nature, usually have some very fun Guitar tracks IMO and stuff like An Endless Sporadic and The Minotaur Project is just amazing on everything it have in the song.

While I agree there might be a bit to many instrumentals from time to time and that 2 versions of Fur Elise is questionable, I don't think there should be any actual locks on "how many parts for what instrument" a song must have to be ported as that will also lock out tons of great songs.

Also people have varied music tastes and not everything sound "bad" or "samey" to everyone.

I know, I hate it when we get reduced parts, like when Harmonix gave us that one song was just talkies and a single drum.

All kidding aside, there are some great instrumentals out there, and personally I've seen them have a lot more variety than a lot of the songs with vocals on average. I think Harmonix is doing just fine as they are.

It's not always easy for us either. Some of the most popular songs on the RBN bewilder me, because I'd never heard of the artists and thought the music was awful. But that's why we rely so heavily on collected sales data and trend projections to help us figure out what PS3 users will enjoy.

I resisted releasing the Magnefora version of Für Elise to PS3 for quite a while because, in light of the already-released Thomas Walker version, I didn't believe that people would want it on PS3. But by checking the PS3 leaderboards, you can see for yourself that it's the most popular song that was released on PS3 in December 2012.
