On pro would they be 100% identical though? I'm guessing not.
There's also supporting the artists/songs you like thing.
Follow up to our lead, generalizations have exceptions.
Also, folks who play "Chart Band" (Songs just for the chart, some folks even turn off the music) are definitely more of an outlier than a rule.
The general rule of thumb if people are less likely to like the charts for songs they don't like than songs they do, even if they songs have identical or nearly identical charting. People are weird like that. You see a lot of that in DLC Quickplay reviews (A lot of the Nickleback charts aren't nearly as bad as they're rated for example)

yup, it's not the exact same chord. it's still the same pattern, and if you were to put him in front of both those songs without telling which is which and having sound off. he wouldn't know which he'd like better.
as for supporting artists/songs you like, again, we're talking
purely
only
ONLY
about the charts.
the thing you see.
we're not talking about artists
songs
how it sounds
we are
only
talking
about
charts.
my love is like a candle, if you forget me, i will burn your damn house down.
I'll be getting the upgrade of "The Wicker Man" and DEFINITELY getting "St. Elmo's Fire." I've been waiting for that to come to PS3 again. For the main HMX DLC? I already have Blitz so they already have my money for those songs.
It's spelled "Squier." Stop spelling it like someone who is in training to be a knight.
I don't think that not being able to play Expert Pro Guitar should impact my desire to learn how to play a song in any way.
What? I'm talking about my desire to learn how to play a song.
???
Dragonforce isn't even my favorite Metal band...
Likewise.
I aim to please
Exactly. I've been saying that for a long long time, but it falls on deaf ears.
I /play/ charts. And playing charts are a combination of seeing and hearing. If I dislike what comes out of a note that I play, that negatively impacts my opinion on the chart. I dislike playing songs on guitar which have a guitar part that I don't like listening to. Which leads me back to my point on The Wicker Man. If I'm not dying to play the song on Pro Guitar, then I would rather a song which has a guitar part that I enjoy listening to and would like to learn how to play to have a pro upgrade over it. It's common sense. And subjective.
The issue is that charts don't exist in vacuums. A lot of things impact PLAYING the charts. I'm going to assume that you mean how I would enjoy them if the volume was muted and the backgrounds were erased. Then I'll say that they are equal. Equal in how terrible they are and equal in how boring they would be. Every chart in Rock Band would be tied for me in how awful they would be to play.
My tumblr page, yo: http://heyitsmario.tumblr.com/
nope, a lot of things impact playing the song
the chart = only WHAT YOU SEE
playing a song in rockband = 2 things.
the music. and the chart.
1 is sound. other is sight
(not counting background animations in this.)

getting wicker man upgrade (though it's the least exciting of the 6 blitz upgrades we are getting/have gotten) and mannequin and st elmos fire from ps3 rbn.

"Just thought I'd mention that it's cool to see a Paper Mario fan who also appreciates death metal. Great job!"
We had two pro upgrades for the Aerosmith week, that counts as "something extra".
