Okay, I think I'll take your guys' word for it. Cheapy notebook a TB external HDD or two. Start with one, I guess, cause maybe it'll hold like 100 hours of videoI don't know. It's so tempting to get a cheapy set of cameras too and just dive into shooting.
How long is your movie going to be? Short or feature length? I've been making films for the last 3 years, and I've never had a final video file that big before. If you export the final piece in the right codec, you shouldn't have a problem.
It may be a restriction for mac users using portable hard drives that have been partitioned...

RockBandRocker: We will all migrate to the Dance Central forums. It will be like Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt.

You seriously have never heard of them? The Blue Angels is the United States Navy's flight demonstration squadron. It was formed in 1946,[1] making it the second oldest formal flying aerobatic team (flying under the same name) in the world, after the French Patrouille de France formed in 1931. The Blue Angels' six demonstration pilots fly the F/A-18 Hornet in more than 70 shows at 34 locations throughout the United States each year, where they still employ many of the same practices and techniques used in their aerial displays in 1946. An estimated 11 million spectators view the squadron during air shows each year. The Blue Angels also visit more than 50,000 people a show season (March through November) in schools and hospitals.[2] Since 1946, the Blue Angels have flown for more than 260 million spectators.[3]

Partitioning isn't the issue, it's the filesystem. The FAT32 filesystem (and others) have filesize limits of 4GB. Not sure about the filesystem(s) mac uses.
I'm pretty sure if you grab a new-ish external drive, it is likely to be formatted as NTFS. If not, you can reformat.
