It would require a level of comedic value that I have not experienced in my entire life for a video game (particularly an action-based FPS) to get by on humor value alone.
There were some jokes in Blood Dragon that made me grin, but just as many made me scowl. I bet Reddit LOVES Blood Dragon.

Its a $15 game that plays like a $60 game with cheesy 80 action movie jokes and what not thrown in. I dont know how you could love Far Cry 3 and not like Blood Dragon.

I think the primary difference is the environment.
I actually enjoyed running around FC3's world, oftentimes not even bothering to fast-travel, whereas BD feels like a copy/paste landscape of boredom.

It doesnt have the scope of FC3 because its a $15 game. So obviously the island isnt going to be as varied as FC3 was. Actually FC3 wasnt that varied a lot of it was basically the same with only the outposts being slightly different.

I didn't say anything about scope.

I was eager to nearly 100% FC3 (and I never bother with that in games) whereas I quickly just wanted to breeze through the missions in BD and end it.

The game's ugly too. The soundtrack's nice, however.
