Every Tuesday night in downtown Portland, OR at Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade is Rock Band Tuesday!

Rock Band Tuesdays has been going strong every week for a year now. We have all DLC, stage, stage lights, large PA, on stage audio monitors, HDTV, large projection screen for the audience, an Ion kit and is run by people that love Rock Band! The night is setup for quickplay, similar to karaoke with songbooks that are updated each month and song slips to sign up on. Get there early and get your song in before the crowds show up around 10pm!

Rock Band Tuesdays is back after a week off for the holidays with 10 new songs, including the first Christmas and Hanukkah songs in Rock Band, 3 hits from the Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol's new single and 3 Classic Rock gems! YEAH! Also, check out our new microphone mod, where 3 mics go through the mixer then into the Xbox 360! You can now rap "So Watcha Want" with 3 MCs on the mics!

Someday Lounge (just around the corner from Ground Kontrol) hosted the Rock Band 2 release party last September and it was very successful, so we're doing it again! If the Feb. 8th event is popular and successful we may start having Rock Band at Someday Lounge once a month on a Sunday night!

Someday Lounge features a larger, higher raised stage, a cool, stylish, modern, dimly lit atmosphere, mixed drinks and a fine selection of beer at the bar, and more seating for the audience. And its on a Sunday night so if Tuesday night doesn't work for you to come down, this is a good opportunity to check the best Rock Band night in Portland out! Someday Lounge also serves mixed drinks, which GK does not, so some people may appreciate that!

All Ages Rock Band Event!

Where: Backspace, 115 NW 5th Ave. Portland, OR
When: Sunday, March 22nd 7PM-11PM
How much: No cover, $2 per person to play

Backspace is an internet cafe/gaming center/art gallery/coffee shop/music venue and it is always open to all ages! Because they have a kitchen and serve food as well, they also serve beer, so if you're over 21 you can still drink! All Rock Band DLC will be available! Over 600 songs!

The previously mentioned event didn't go down due to scheduling conflicts, so this will be the first of hopefully many all ages Rock Band Events! See you there!

Had a successful All Ages Rock Band event tonight! Come play the new Gorillaz songs and classic rock songs this Tuesday August 11th at Ground Kontrol!

To celebrate Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade's tenth year in business, MC Destructo's Rock Band Experience will hold an all-night, all-out Rock Band Battle with promotional merchandise from MTV Networks, Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade, and Cinemark East 16 offered as prizes.

Groups of four players can enter the competition by registering at Ground Kontrol on August 25th between 8PM and 9PM and performing a 2-song set of their choosing. Members of the "house band" Mario Speedwagon will judge the bands on score, stage presence, and style. The best four bands advance to the final round, where they face off in single-elimination competition. Who will be crowned the best Rock Band band of them all?

Contest Rules:

* Each band must have four members.

* Each band's lineup must remain the same throughout the competition.

* Game score = Instrument difficulty * Player difficulty * % notes hit.

Player Difficulty Multipliers
Easy: .5x
Medium: 1x
Hard: 1.5x
Expert: 2x

Total band score = one-third game score, one-third "Stage Moves," and one-third "Style," as judged by the members of 'house band' Mario Speedwagon.

* All songs must be six minutes or less in length. To check the length of your chosen songs, visit http://www.rockbandcontent.com

* Bands may repeat songs in later rounds, but this will likely reduce their performance and style scoring.
